A construct containing a promoterless IRES-lacZ gene and a neomycin gene replaced exon 2 and portions of exons 1 and 3. Gene specific transcript and protein were not produced in mice homozgous for this allele (data not shown). Beta-galactosidase is expressed from this allele under the control of the endogenous promoter. (J:70858)
