The gene was disrupted by insertion of a neomycin resistance cassette into codon 181 via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression in liver, spleen, mammary gland, thymus, kidney, and skeletal muscle of homozygous mutant animals was demonstrated by Northern and Western blot analyses. (J:41784)
