This transgene expresses Cre recombinase under the control of a mouse dopamine receptor D1A gene promoter. This promoter is active in the striatum, nucleus accumbens and olfactory tubercles; weak expression is also noted in layer VI of the cortex, CA2 of the hippocampus and some nuclei of the thalamus.
