The gene was disrupted by replacement of exon 1 with a neomycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination. Western blot of brain verified the absence of protein product in homozygous mutant mice. Northern blot showed no compensatory expression from Jph1 or Jph2 in the brain of homozygous mutant mice.
