The adjacent Cd3d and the Cd3g loci are arranged in a head-to-head fashion enabling the targeting of exon 1 from each locus with a single hygromycin cassette. Northern analysis of thymocytes isolated from homozygous mice showed an absence of transcript from both loci. Expression of the related Cd3e and Cd3z genes was observed, though at levels above and below normal, respectively. (J:76991)
