A PGK-neo cassette replaced a portion of the exon encoding the helix-loop-helix domain downstream of the splice acceptor site and the first 91 nucleotides. Western blot analysis of total RNA isolated from cortical neurons showed an absence of protein expression in homozygous mutant embryos. (J:69874)
