Exons 7 through 9 were replaced with a PGK-neo gene downstream of exon 6. Transcripts were undetectable in total RNA extracts from the liver, kidney, and epididymis of homozygous mice by Northern analysis. A lack of protein expression was confirmed by Western blot analysis. (J:55555)
