A neomycin resistance cassette was inserted into exon 2. Northern blot analysis on mRNA derived from skeletal muscle of homozygous mice confirmed that no transcript was expressed from this allele. Western blot analysis on skeletal muscle lysates derived from homozygous mice demonstrated that no detectable encoded protein was present. (J:52275)
