A PGK-neo cassette was used to disrupt the beta sheet structural element of this gene via homologous recombination resulting in a structurally unstable protein product. Immunofluorescent staining and Western blot analysis of brain lysate from homozygous mutant animals confirmed the absence of protein product. (J:75891)
