The carboxy terminal domain of the protein was disrupted by insertion of a termination codon at position 451 and the replacement of the sequences encoding residues 451 to 690 with a neomycin resistance cassette. Immunoprecipitation analysis on lysates of stimulated thymocytes demonstrated that the larger precursor protein was not made, but a processed and truncated p52 protein was present. (J:43469)
