Exon 1 of this gene was replaced with a neomycin cassette via homologous recombination. Northern blot of liver from homozygous mutant animals detected a mutant transcript containing the neo sequence. Plasma from homozygous mutant animals did not contain protein product or exhibit enzyme activity. (J:74337)
