An exon of this gene was disrupted by the insertion of a neomycin gene via homologous recombination. No transcripts were detected in the tissues of homozygous mutant animals by RT-PCR analysis. Pancreatic beta cells of homozygous mutant animals did not exhibit membrane current activity as determined by whole cell assays. (J:49755)
