Amino acids 1327 - 1336 of this gene were replaced by a PGK-neo-PolyA cassette via homologous recombination in the orientation of gene transcription. A stop codon engineered into the 5' end of the neo cassette results in the loss of the DNA polymerase domain of the targeted gene. Southern blot analysis confirmed successful gene targeting in ES cells. (J:74111)
