The promoter and first exon of the gene were flanked with inserted loxP sites. In addition, an frt-flanked neomycin resistance cassette was inserted into first intron. RT-PCR analysis on RNA derived from homozygous embryos demonstrated that aberrant neo-fusion transcripts were produced from this allele in addition to reduced levels of normal mRNA. (J:74631)
