A loxP-flanked neomycin selection cassette replaced the "IT" and DNAseI hypersensitive region of the promoter. RT-PCR experiments demonstrated that this mutation resulted in the loss of expression in megakaryocytes and fetal liver but not in erythroid cells. (J:41605)
