A PGK-neomycin resistance cassette replaced a genomic fragment containing exon 1, including the translation initiation site. RT-PCR analysis on RNA derived from hypothalamus or hippocampus of homozygous mice demonstrated that no detectable transcript was produced from this allele. (J:63173)
