A neomycin selection cassette replaced the sequences encoding the bHLH domain. In addition, a lacZ gene was inserted in frame into the beginning of the coding sequences. A beta-galactosidase fusion protein was expressed from this allele under the control of the endogenous promoter. RT-PCR analysis confirmed that no transcript containing Atoh7 coding sequences is produced from this allele. (J:70746)
