A neomycin selection cassette replaced a genomic fragment containing most of the coding region, including amino acids 53-337 encoding the bHLH domain. Northern blot analysis on brain RNA derived from P5 homozygous mice demonstrated that no detectable transcript is produced from this allele. (J:45777)
