A neomycin selection cassette was inserted into exon 8. Northern blot analysis on RNA derived from various tissues of homozygous mice demonstrated that aberrant transcripts were produced from this allele. Western blot analysis on lysates derived from brain, heart, pancreas and skeletal muscle confirmed that no detectable protein is made from this allele. (J:69979)
