A PGK-neomycin resistance cassette replaced sequences encoding the first phosphatase signature motif. Northern blot and RT-PCR analyses did not detect mRNA containing the first PTP domain, but did detect a shorter mRNA in brain and kidney from homozygous mutant mice. (J:63046)
