A neomycin resistance cassette replaced the exons encoding the cytoplasmic tyrosine phosphatase domains. Northern blot analyses detected truncated but not wild-type transcripts in several tissues from homozygous mutant 3 month old male mice. Truncated protein was also detected on the surface of homozgyote thymocytes with reduced expression compared to endogenous protein. (J:42273, J:119456)
