A neomycin selection cassette replaced a genomic fragment containing exons 15-17 which encodes part of the catalytic domain. Northern blot analysis on RNA derived from liver of homozygous mice demonstrated that no detectable transcript was produced from this allele. ELISA assays on plasma derived from homozygous mice confirmed that no active protein was detectable. (J:30174)
