A neomycin selection cassette was inserted into exon 3 in reverse trancriptional orientation to the gene. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that no detectable trancript was present in total brain RNA derived from homozygous mice. Western blot analysis on protein lysates from cerebellum, neocortex and hippocampus of homozygous mice confirmed that no detectable protein is produced from this allele. (J:74419)
