This transgene expresses Cre recombinase gene under control of a 5.6 kb 5'-flanking sequence from the Pou3f4 gene. Position effects are postulated to direct expression in early embryogenesis, while the endogenous promoter is not known to be expressed at this time. This strain may be employed as a global 'deletor' strain. (J:73526)
