A transgene expressing human BCL2 under the control of the human BCL2 promoter and immunoglobulin heavy chain enhancer randomly inserted into the mouse Bmp7 gene. PCR and Southern blot analysis demonstrated that the insertion resulted in a disruption or deletion of exon 3. RT-PCR analysis demonstrated that no transcript containing sequnces from exons 4-7 could be detected, suggesting that no functional protein can be produced from this allele. (J:38288)
