A 6.5 kb genomic fragment containing sequences encoding amino acids 197-507 was replaced with a splice-acceptor IRES lacZ and neomycin resistance gene fusion cassette. Northern blot analysis on RNA derived from kidney and testis tissue of homozygous mice demonstrated that no detectable transcripts were produced from this allele. (J:67352)
