The gene was disrupted using neomycin resistance gene driven by a PGK promoter and fused with a lacZ gene. Insertion of the targeting cassette occurred in the first exon. Homozygous mutant animals did not express mRNA or protein as demonstrated by Northern and Western analysis. (J:73616)
