Insertion of a PGK-neomycin resistance cassette into exon 2, which encodes the alpha-1 domain of the A-alpha chain, disrupted the gene. Cytofluorometric analyses of lymphocytes from thymus and lymph nodes did not detect expression of the A-alphaA-beta heterodimer in homozygous mutant mice. (J:16372)
