The vector containing a neo cassette was targeted to exon 2. A thymidine kinase gene was inserted at the 3' end of the construct. This leads to complete inactivation as the putative splicing from exon 1 to exon 3 renders the codons out of frame, terminating after 11 heterologous amino acids. (J:47310)
