A neomycin selection cassette replaced a genomic fragment containing the initiation codon through sequences encoding the third transmembrane domain and the following intron. No transcript was detectable in northern blot analysis on RNA from bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMCs) derived from homozygous mice. Binding assays confirmed the absence of protein from BMMCs derived from homozygous mice. (J:60293)
