These transgenic mice express the tetracycline-inhibitable transcription factor (tTA) under the control of liver-specific mouse albumin promoter. Constitutive expression of tTA in liver makes this strain suitable for use in creating bitransgenic mice that can, by withdrawing tetracycline, inducibly express a gene of interest in the liver, when the gene of interest is under the direction of the tetracycline responsive promoter, TetOp (J:69003)
