A neomycin-resistance cassette was inserted between restriction sites in exons 27 and 28. A short, aberrant trancript was produced from the targeted allele, which could be detected by Northern blotting. However, translation of the full-length protein is predicted to result in a truncated protein, due to the presence of termination codons. (J:71948)
