A full length cDNA encoding the Drosphila orthodenticle (otd) gene replaced a 2.3kb fragment containing exons 1 and 2. Correct expression of the Drosophila gene under the control of the Otx1 promoter was verified by in situ hybridization on sagittal sections of a E12.5 embryo. (J:47899)
