A neomycin cassette replaced exon 2, which encodes the secretion signal sequence. RNAse protection assays demonstrated an absence of transcript in RNA derived from cerebellum of adult homozygous mice. Western blot and immunohistochemical analysis did not detect the protein in brain of homozygous mice. (J:59207)
