A neomycin resistance cassette was inserted into the third exon. This region encodes the triple helix collagenous domain. Northern blot, RNAse protection assays and RT-PCR analysis demostrated that no transcript was readily detected in RNA derived from limbs of homozygous mice. (J:20879)
