This allele is a derivative of Fgf8tm1.1Mrt in which mice carrying this allele were mated to beta-actin Flp mice, which resulted in heterozygous offspring carrying a recombined Fgf8 allele in which the neomycin resistance cassette was deleted, and exons 2 and 3 remained flanked by loxP sites.
