A 1.3kb neomycin resistance cassette replaced parts of exons 2 and 3 of the gene. Northern blots of kidneys from homozygous mutant mice had no detectable Aqp3 transcript. Immunofluorescence analysis of fixed frozen kidney sections from homozygous mutant mice had no detectable Aqp3 protein. (J:61675)
