A neomycin resistance cassette replaced exons 9 to 13. Northern blot analysis using a full-length rat cDNA probe detected transcripts smaller than wild-type in brain and spleen of homozygous animals. Western blot analysis did not detect wild-type or deleted forms of protein in brain, spleen, or erythrocyte ghosts from homozygous mice. (J:63047)
