A PGK-neomycin cassette was inserted into exon 1 of the gene. Mapt protein was not detected by Western blot using anti-Mapt antibodies in crude extracts from cerebrum and cerebellum or the dorsal root ganglia of homozygous mutant mice. (J:19030)
