LoxP sites that flanked exon 3 were inserted by homologous recombination. The loxP-flanked sequences were then deleted by transient cre mediated recombination in ES cells prior to the production of chimeric animals. No mRNA was detected in adult brain derived from homozygous mice. (J:65882)
