Replacement of two adjacent Pax-binding sites (66 bp) in the regulatory region with a lox-P flanked neomycin cassette. In this derivative of En2tm3Alj, the neomycin cassette was removed via Cre mediated recombination, leaving a loxP site in place of the Pax binding sites. (J:60433)
