The last exon of this gene was disrupted by insertion of a neomycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination. Mutant transcript was detected in adipose, brain, and skin tissue from homozygous mutant animals by Northern blot analysis, but protein product was not detect in hepatic nuclear extract by Western blot analysis.
