Lep^ob-2J

This allele is the result of an insertion of a full length early transposon, fusing exon 1 to the 3'LTR of the ETn. Northern analysis of adipose tissue RNA showed that the insertion provided alternative splice acceptor and polyadenylation sites producing fusion RNAs between the first exon and the retrovirus and precluding the expression of RNA from the coding sequence of Lep.
