The random insertion of a transgene into the Unc5c gene resulted in a ~8.5 kb genomic deletion at the insertion site. The deleted region includes a putative 110 bp exon. Northern blot analysis on adult cerebellar mRNA derived from homozygous mice demonstrated that no detectable transcript was expressed from this allele. (J:40243)
