A 1.8 kb neomycin cassette replaced part of the exon 1 coding sequence and ~1.3 kb of intron 1. Northern blot analysis of kidney, lung, eye, spleen, and heart homogenates from homozygous mutant mice did not detect full-length transcripts. Western blots of kidney, lung, eye, spleen, and heart homogenates from homozygous mutant mice did not detect showed no detectable encoded protein. (J:45888)
