A neomycin resistance cassette was inserted into exon 1, 10 bp downstream of the ATG codon. Protein activity was not detected in tissues derived from homozygous mice. Western blot analysis detected a 113 kDa protein in homozygous mice, but this truncated form is predicted to be inactive beacuse it should lack a critical N-terminal zinc finger. (J:53360)
