A lacZ/PGK-Hygro cassette was inserted just upstream of the homeobox domain, such that the lacZ encoding sequence is in-frame. The allele is expected to express the first 88 amino acids of the Prrx2 protein, fused to the Beta-gal protein, in a pattern identical to that of the Prrx2 gene. The absence of both the homeodomain and the aristaless domain make it unlikely that the protein retains any endogenous biochemical activity. (J:50488)
