A neomycin selection cassette was inserted into exon 6 at nucleotide 1304. RT-PCR analysis on RNA derived from E10.5 embryos demonstrated that the expression of a full length transcript was eliminated in homozygous embryos, but the expression of a shorter transcript (called delta324 by the authors) was unaffected.
