A region encompassing promoter region and the a 3' portion of exon 1, encoding thr first 36 amino acids, was replaced by a neomycin selection cassette. Northern blot analysis of total RNA isolated from several organs showed an absence of transcript in homozygous mutant mice. (J:32217)
