An HPRT minigene replaced a genomic fragment containing exons 1, 2 and part of 3. Northern blot analysis on RNA derived from pituitary of homozygous mice demonstrated that no detectable transcript was produced from thia allele. Radioimmunoasays on serum from homozygous mice confirmed that no functional protein was expressed from this allele. (J:38099)
